Well, I hadn't had a proper camera of my own for a long time, and I had never had a digital one. For few years I had a girlfriend who had a camera - so I could always borrow hers, but then one day she was gone, and the camera as well. So for a year or so I only took pictures with my pretty basic mobile phone - the Birmingham and Abney cemetery albums are from this period. In a way it's very handy as your phone is always in your pocket ... and one can take quite good pictures even with a simple camera. But then I realised: No, there must be more to life than that.
And in the cold bright morning of New Year's Eve the delivery man knocked on my door and said: Knock, knock ... here my son, take and keep and play and enjoy! And I have enjoyed, believe me ...
